researching for my main task

for our main task my group and i have decided to go for the genre of gangsta/action the film that i decided to research is called rise of the footsoljer, it has a very wide spread of allot of different types of illegal organised crime from football firms to clubs and drugs and everything in between and gives the viewer a very good idea of how British crime has been run throughout

In the opening 2 minuets of the film the there are wide shots of the countryside covered in snow and the music is slow and peaceful and credits are fading in and out slowly in random positions in the screen the camera then cuts to a hospital where 3 men are lying fully clothed on metal tables and they are covered in blood and bruises and there is a man taking photos of them, the music sounds like church bells giving us the impression that these men are dead the music is very slow and erie .A fone is heard ringing over the sound of the music. A camera pans across these men's bodies slowly then stops at the fone. we then hear a voice coming from the fone and the voice sounds out of breath and panicky and is asking to be called back as he is worried, we immediately link the fone with the 3 dead men then the screen goes blank and a voice is heard telling us a bit of back information and then the title of the film fades into the middle of the screen. The music is then up beat as it cuts back in time to a football firm getting in to a fight and the voice of the narrator (who is also the main character) is introducing  few of the other characters.

This film is an example of British gangster, i am now looking forward to researching gangster film from other cultures.

Props in British gangster films:the stereotypical car used in British gangster films is the classic range rover as shown here on the front cover of the film layer cake.
This film is similar to rise of the footsoldier but it is set in central London as apposed o Essex and it is also set in the 20th century

British gangsters are usually seen wearing suits and looking smart, i found some pictures on the internet of clips from british gangster films and front covers of the films
